CERVESA ESPIGA

The biologists Arnau and Teresa, after their international experiences in Denmark and Germany, unite passion and vocation and embark on a wonderful beer adventure. In 2012 they founded the project Cervesa Espiga and they did it at first as “gypsy brewers”. Its concept since its inception has always been to create quality natural beers, with personality, special character, and proximity. They like to play with hops and fruit. And their beers are recognized for their freshness and their fruity and herbaceous notes. Currently, already more established, they make their 'birrotes' in their own factory located in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons, in the heart of the Penedés wine region (Catalonia), not far from the large Cava producers. Since its foundation, they have produced beers full of life that have found their place in many bars, refrigerators, and beer fairs in Spain, and in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, Italy, Serbia, the USA, and the United Kingdom. USA and Russia.

“A beer to enjoy, not only the beer itself, but also the entire process: from the first idea, the first tests, all its preparation and, finally, drinking it in company”.

Arnau and Teresa.

Beer: SOUND TRUCK

Style: Double Dry-Hopped Double IPA (DDH DIPA)

The second of the DDH Double IPA series conceived to pay homage to urban art. This time collaborating on the design of the label with the urban artist GR170 aka “Grito” ( @gr170 ), who paints and survives in the suburbs of Barcelona. Brewed with Golden Promise malt, wheat flakes and oat flakes, the Sound Truck is yellowish in color with hints of orange, with creamy white foam and persistent on the palate and medium body. In aroma and flavor we find citrus notes contributed by an abundant monovarietal 'dry-hopping' of Citra hops.

Beer: CITRUS BASE

Style: Double Dry-Hopped IPA

As its name indicates, this beer is a rather citrusy version of our Double Dry-hopped IPAs. When served in a glass, it shows a pale golden color, with some turbidity and white foam. It exhibits citrus and tropical aromas thanks to the 'double dry-hopping' of Citra and Mosaic cryo hops, which provide notes of lime, grapefruit, pineapple, mango and passion fruit. It is a beer with a good degree of bitterness that is juicy on the palate and floods the palate with fruity, exotic and herbal flavors that conclude in a pleasantly bitter and dry finish. A real fruit juice!
